New Mexico business lawyer David Baake is a native of the borderlands. After graduating summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a degree in biological sciences, he obtained his juris doctorate from Harvard Law School. After law school, he spent a year working on climate and clean energy law at the Natural Resources Defense Council in Washington, D.C., before completing two federal clerkships, first with Judge David G. Campbell in Phoenix and then with Judge George H. King in Los Angeles, where he became intimately familiar with commercial litigation. In 2017, David moved back to the borderlands where he started his own law practice. In his free time, David enjoys backpacking in New Mexico’s Gila Wilderness, traveling with his wife, and playing guitar. Fluent in Spanish, David enjoys reading literature in both English and Spanish, and is especially proud to have read Don Quixote in its original Spanish last year. David is an accomplished birder, who has over 500 bird species on his life list.
